Half Day Retreat: Forgiveness with Cheryl Slean

July 15, 2017 at 10:00am - 2:00pm

Come investigate forgiveness practice with Rebel Saints Meditation Society and Cheryl Slean of Against The Stream Meditation Society Los Angeles at a Half-Day Retreat in the heart of Capitol Hill.

Why is it sometimes so hard to forgive?  Even when we know it would be a relief to let go of blame, shame, resentment and anger? Like other forms of letting go, forgiveness can’t be forced. The Buddhist path points directly at the problem of holding on– what the Buddha called “clinging”– and offers teachings and practices to help us naturally turn our hearts and minds toward letting go.  This half-day retreat  will include meditation, teachings, and practice. You’ll come away from the retreat with new skills to help you find your way more easily to forgiveness and the freedom of an unburdened heart.

Cheryl Slean has been practicing Buddhist meditation intensively since 1995, teaching since 2007, and is currently serving on the Teachers’ Council at Against the Stream L.A. and Insight Community of the Desert (Palm Springs).

Suggested donation for our half-day retreat is 40$. Give more if you are able. All teachings are freely offered. All are welcome. Support your local meditation society.
