We practice insight meditation, also known as mindfulness or Vipassana, the central meditation teaching of the Buddha. Insight meditation focuses attention on the breath and cultivates present time awareness. Combined with the heart practices of lovingkindness, compassion and forgiveness, insight meditation develops our natural wisdom and the ability to see life as it really is.
We wish to create and sustain communities of wise and compassionate people from every walk of life. All are welcome. We believe that the path of awakening is attainable and should be available to all.
We hold ongoing weekly classes, half day programs and daylong workshops
- Our weekly classes are ongoing, taught by local meditation leaders and open to everyone. There is no registration required and they are offered by donation only. We have cushions and chairs and there is no need to bring anything. These classes are open to all levels of practitioner.
- Half day programs are taught by our local meditation leaders. Offered either in the morning or afternoon and covering a particular mindfulness topic. as well as an extended practice period. Registration is often required.
- Day long programs and workshops are held on a monthly basis and taught by a variety of teachers from around the country. Registration is often required.
